Holistic Psychiatry

When the nervous system stays in survival mode, symptoms start speaking louder.

We Start By Calming the Nervous System

Your symptoms are not random.

 Maybe you’ve tried therapy.
Or medications.
Or done all the “right” things.

And your labs are normal, yet…

You’re still tired, overwhelmed, anxious,
and not quite yourself.

Maybe your body feels unpredictable.
Like you can’t fully trust it.

Your mind feels foggy
and won’t slow down.

Both.
At the same time.

Or you’re holding it all together on the outside…
but falling apart on the inside.

And starting to wonder how long you can keep that up.

Maybe you’ve heard your symptoms actually mean something,
but no one has taken the time to help you understand them.

Maybe you sense there’s more to this…
but every appointment ends the same way.

Another prescription.
Another adjustment.
Another loop.

And at some point, you start to realize—
you can’t keep doing this.

And you just wish someone would actually listen.

Because right now…
you don’t feel heard.

There’s a reason this hasn’t made sense.

It’s not that your symptoms are random.
And it’s not that you’ve missed something obvious.

Healthcare today is built to manage symptoms—
not to understand the pattern underneath them.

So things get labeled.
Medications get adjusted.
But no one slows down long enough to ask:

What is your system actually trying to say?

Learn More About Your Symptoms Here

This is where we do things differently.

We slow things down.

We look at your symptoms in context—
your nervous system, your history, your physiology, your environment.

Not as separate pieces.
But as one conversation.

So your body starts to feel more predictable.
Your mind starts to settle.

And you can begin to understand your own signals again—
instead of needing someone else to interpret them for you.

Finding the Right Level of Support

Healing doesn’t happen the same way for everyone.

Some people need steady weekly support while navigating medication changes or nervous system instability.

Others are looking for a place to slow down, reconnect, and work more deeply over time.

And some simply need a thoughtful second opinion or focused consultation.

The right level of care depends on:

  • nervous system capacity
  • current stability
  • medication complexity
  • life circumstances
  • and the amount of support available outside the therapy room.

How do I know which level of support is right for me?

Weekly Support
Best for people with new or destabilizing psychiatric medication tapers, significant nervous system dysregulation, navigating complex trauma, or needing consistent support and accountability during a season of stabilization.

Bi-Weekly Support
Best for people wanting deeper ongoing work with steady support, but who are relatively stable between sessions.

Monthly Support
Best for people who are generally stable, already doing foundational work, and wanting ongoing guidance, reflection, and maintenance support.

Focused Sessions
Best for people seeking consultation, second opinions, short-term support, or occasional deep-dive sessions without an ongoing membership.

Can I work with you if I live outside your licensure states?

Yes, in some cases.

Focused consultation sessions may be appropriate for people seeking:

  • holistic psychiatric second opinions
  • nervous system and root-cause education
  • medication taper consultation
  • lifestyle and functional medicine guidance
  • support understanding lab patterns, symptoms, or treatment options

These sessions are educational and consultative in nature and do not include prescribing outside my licensure states.

If ongoing medication management is needed, you’ll need a local prescriber or psychiatrist willing to collaborate and send prescriptions, including to compounding pharmacies when appropriate.

The right level of support depends on nervous system stability, medication complexity, current functioning, and life circumstances.

Some people begin in a lower-frequency membership and later realize they need more support. Others begin with intensive support and step down over time. We’ll adjust based on what your nervous system, symptoms, and life circumstances actually require during that season—not just what looks best on paper.

If you’re unsure where to begin, a connection call can help determine the best fit (you can find the connection call link at the bottom of this page).

Holistic Psychiatry at White Oak

Why this work exists

I didn’t come to this work through theory.

Both of my parents died young—
after years of doing exactly what they were told.
Taking medications as prescribed.
Trusting the system to guide them.

No one talked about long-term risk.
No one talked about root cause.
No one talked about another way.

So I stepped into that same system—
not to repeat it, but to understand it.
And to do something different.

This is why I don’t rush.
Why I don’t separate the body into parts.
Why I don’t hand you a plan without helping you understand it.

Because your body isn’t the problem.

The signal is there—
it’s just been buried under noise.

When things start to shift…

At first, things slow down.
The noise lowers.

Your system begins to stabilize.

And then something subtle starts to happen.

You stop reacting to every symptom.
You start recognizing patterns.

You begin to trust what you’re feeling
without needing constant confirmation.

And it’s no longer about feeling “good” all the time.

It’s about feeling steady.
Clear.
Like you again.

And here's why:

I don’t just look at symptoms — I look at patterns. Nervous system signatures. Hormone shifts. Mineral imbalances. Attachment wounds. Family systems. Food rhythms. Energetic imprints. The places where stress, story, and physiology collide.

This is mental health care that treats the whole person — mind, body, lineage, and environment.

A quick note about fit

The right setting matters for healing to occur.
This work is designed for people who are stable enough to engage in outpatient, relationship-based care.

If you have been recently hospitalized, are in active crisis, or are experiencing significant instability (including active psychosis, severe suicidality, or rapid decompensation), this is not the right level of care at this time.

These seasons require a higher level of support—such as inpatient care, intensive outpatient programs, or crisis services—where safety and stabilization can be prioritized.

This doesn’t mean you’ll be “stuck” in the system forever. It means your life matters and deserves protection.

If you feel like you may be a good fit for this work....

....then something in you already knows.

That this isn’t about trying harder.
Or finding the next right protocol.

It’s about slowing down enough
to actually hear what your body has been saying all along.

You don’t need a perfect plan.
Or certainty about how this will go.

You just need to be willing
to start paying attention in a different way.

So if you’re ready for this kind of work—

Healing happens in relationship.
These paths are built on that truth.
