Weeds, Trees, and Wild Allies from the Green World

Not all medicine comes gently.

Some creeps through the cracks.
Some grows where it’s not wanted.
Some smears itself across your path
like Kudzu and dares you to deal with it.

The White Oak Plant Spirit Medicine Oracle Deck grew from my friendship with the plants around me in the Southern Appalachians. The weeds, trees, and wild allies that root, spread, protect, bloom, decay, and return have given me plenty to reflect on in my own life and work.

I’m Veronica Johnson, founder of White Oak Medicine, nurse practitioner, breathwork facilitator, and educator. This deck brings together my love of plants and the questions I keep coming back to about how we live, heal, and relate to one another. Plant Spirit Medicine also helps guide my Rhythm Medicine™ approach at White Oak.

There are sweet flower crowns and moonlit rituals here, but there’s also deep-rooted truth-telling. Sacred weed medicine. Compost and ceremony.

An invitation to step into your higher self.

An initiation to live it.

Inside are the misunderstood ones—the creepers, clingers, and colonizers.

The plants that have been cut down, cast out, or called too much… but came back stronger.
Kudzu. Privet. Crownbeard. Dog fennel. Tree of Heaven.
They’re here to remind you that your wounds are your medicine—if you’re willing to listen.

You’ll also find the anchors.
The elders.
The steady ones.
White Oak. Eastern Hemlock. Mimosa. Bamboo. Beech.

And don’t forget the ancient medicinals.

Mugwort. Yarrow. Motherwort. Lavender. Lemon Balm.
The native wildflowers.
And elder trees.
Tigerlily. Queen Anne’s Lace. Hawthorn. Joe Pye. Beech.

Each card carries not just a spirit, but a message—poetic, fierce, tender, and true.

This is a deck that
doesn’t shy away from the shadow.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious,
it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

                                     -Carl Jung

Pull a card and meet the plant that has something to teach you today.

Read its message. Sit with the question. Write about what comes up. Or spend time with the plant itself.

Whether you draw balm or blade, the cards have a way of cutting to the root of what wants to grow in you.
